Ep. 49er - Sausage Corndogs & State Fair Foods

In this episode I am joined by Jaime, Johnny, Hector and Hiram (via L.A.) We start by talking about the huge rivalry game between the Niners (Hiram) and Cowboys (Super fan Jaime). Hiram goes on his soapbox as Jaime has to eat crow and cancel his Superbowl plans for another year. We continue to make bad predictions for the rest of the playoff picture. Deshawn creeps his way back into the conversation as he always does. We give some shoutouts to some of our barbecue friends at two big cookoffs over the weekend. Congrats to the Buzzards on their Grand Champion call (Eagle Pass), Natural Born Grillers coming close, and Sons of Smoak with another Grand Champion (Beeville). Johnny talks about changing our walk up music at the cook offs. I went to go try the Chicken fried brisket at GW's BBQ and Catering. I give my review and recommend everyone to go give it a try. I also paid a visit to Smokecrafters BBQ and had the Bacon Macaroni Smoked Beef burger. I talk a little bit of the improvements they've made to the location. We also took some of Hector's Homemade Jalapeno Cheese Sausage and turned them into corndogs. The end result was fantastic!!!

All this talk about Dallas and fried food had us take a trip down memory lane and talk about some of the crazy State Fair eats. We talk about fried twinkies, Oreos, bacon, butter as well as a cotton candy taco, a funnel cake bacon burger, fried jello and much more. Johnny finds a picture of a 3 meat burger stuffed with cheese and Oreo cookies.

We finish off by talking about some plans for our season finale, Episode 50. Hector makes a movie suggestion to watch Emily in Paris while Hiram keeps it more in line with the podcast recommending Mystery at Blind Frog Ranch. A bunch of joes that cook like pros!!!
