Ep. 22: Texas Cook’em High Steaks in Edinburg

In this episode Jaime, Hector, Johnny and I are joined by Hiram in LA. We welcome special guest Ronnie Larralde, President of the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce and organizer of the Texas Cook'em High Steaks in Edinburg. We start with a little celebrity boxing and how it's changing the boxing world. Deshawn Watson makes his way back into the podcast as Ronnie is a die hard Houston Texas fan. Hector takes a shot at the Texans and says they were never a Super Bowl contender. I treat the guys to a game show called Name the Paul, Who said it. They guys have to guess a quote from Logan, Jake, or Chris Paul. Ronnie pulls the curtain down behind the scenes as he gives us a breakdown of the 15th Annual Texas Cook'em High Steaks in Edinburg. He talks about how one of the largest steak cook offs got started. He tells us about Brett Galloway and how the cook off became part of the Steak Cookers Association (SCA) and how the cook off inspired the creation of the SCA. The cookoff will take place at the Edinburg Ebony Golf course for the first time, followed by fireworks and a concert by Eastin Corbin. Joe tips: We all share some juicy tips on how to best cook your steaks for either backyard cooking or competition steak. We are hopeful that there will be more steak cookoffs in our region. Hector is still not a fan of Grill Grates.

We think about what if we each opened a restaurant. What would it be called and what kind of food would we serve. The guys give some interesting answers that will make your mouth water as you laugh it up.
